Lord, Change My Attitude

Well, as I stumbled upon this Discipleship Class a Church, I think it might Change my life.
I have never taken part in discipleship training at church, not because I thought it was dumb or a waste of time, but that I have never had time and that was my excuse as I walked into the discipleship training fair on a Sunday nite at church. I don't have the time to be here every Sunday nite and I can't commit to the class due to the fact that I work most Sundays and Amanda just started preschool director and I will be helping with that, not to mention I have three kids, this will never work.
As I walked into the training fair, with no intention of even joining a class, I was greeted and asked why I wasn't and after stating all the above for mention things, I looked at the title of the class, "Lord, Change My Attitude."
Really, it was like a slap in the face. After laughing with the teacher for a bit, I was very reluctant, but decided to give it a try anyway. I told him that I might not be able to make it to every class due to the fact that I was working the very next Sunday. But when the class met again I was there with what I thought to be a good attitude, haha!
After sitting through the first real session of the class, and finding out that the session I missed was just a get to know everyone sessions and just what the class might do for an individual, so I didn't really miss anything.  This was comforting, so I was ready or so I thought.
The First lesson was about Complaining.  Numbers was the Chapter and while knew about the wilderness and Moses, I didn't know that this chapter of scripture would speak to me in a big way.  Complaining is a sin! Those who chose to complain will spend a lifetime in the wilderness, this was a phrase that stuck in my head all nite! God doesn't want to hear us complain about our role in life!  Jeremiah 29:11 When you Complain what are you really saying to the Lord? Does God really want to hear you complain about the blessings he has put in front of you?
When I heard this I kept thinking of the Movie " Facing the Giants", Great movie. The scene where he is talking to the players, " We give God the praise, when we Win, and we give God the praise when we LOSE!" Even when we have a bad attitude and we are complaining about the hot weather, we need to give HIM the Praise. He created that heat and if it was to make you enjoy cooler weather or to motivate you to get in the air conditioning, you need to seek God and good in everything and quit you whining.
As reluctant as I was, I am excited to have walked into that fellowship hall, and I give Him the praise for Great friends, Aaron, for talking me into the class. Even if doesn't change my Life, I pray that it does, Change my Attitude!

Google +

So for those of you that may know me I am a bit a Computer nerd, small but nerdy, and I was invited to take part in this uprising called Google+.  I think it has the potential to be the next big thing in social media.

With that said, This thing is going to make Facebook the new Myspace and is going to take over social media apps as a whole.  It is what everyone wants in social media times ten, and apart it coming from one of the biggest names on the web, its just cool to say GOOGLE PLUS.  Features include:

Circles, of friends, acquaintances, family, homos from high school, and church members.  But that's really no different from Facebook you say, well you are wrong because you can choose who to send you status updates to and whose you would like to view.  So if you really wanted to friend the guy from high school whom you thought was going to Kill everybody, you could make him in his on circle.

Huddle, which is a glorified instant messaging platform, is Fantastic.  It allows you to start a conversation  with one person of a group of people, you circles.  This huddle could be read by the whole group or by just one person, the person sending the message has the power and security to allow who they want to be able to see it.

Stream, which is like looking at the news feed page on Facebook, is the essential part of the whole thing.  It's like the main page, you can see everyone's posts and view pics posted of all the people in your circles. The beauty of it is that you can view the stream by circle or all or just one person.

In Conclusion, G+ is the Best thing to hit the streets sense the RPG, and I am definitely on the Band wagon. But and the present time there are only invites to the site and you gotta know someone on the inside to let you in, and that my friends is the only set back at this point in my opinion.  Because there are only a few people that have it in the testing stage you don't have a lot of friends.  As I recall myself last nite trying to find friends I look up every so called computer geek I knew in high school and guess what...

Hats of to Google for once again take one more step to world domination. I love it and I think its Great.
and If you want an invite shoot me an email or post a comment. Until then...

90 minutes in Heaven

I have recently just finished the book 90 Minutes in Heaven.  Let me just start by saying, LIFECHANGER!

The book starts out like any other with some preface about the start of someones life and then goes into an interesting description of what happened to him the hour and he was pronounced dead.  This was an awesome description and very detailed if it could get any more detailed, I for one would have to agree with the writer, Don Piper, that there is only so many human words to describe the pleasure of being in Heaven.

But, I don't think thats why God told him to write the book.  He goes on to talk about the things that happened in his life after he was pronounced alive and the struggle he went through.  This is what makes this book an 11 on my scale of 1-10. He goes through more struggles in a short amount of time that most people don't face in a lifetime.

Towards the end of his journey he is battling depression very bad and hasn't over come it yet, and it was the little things that people do that brought this man from his lowest point to the top of the mountain were he is now. I think this is so true for my life right now, to enjoy the little things in life; the time with my kids, my wife, the smiles the laughter.  I have neglected the ones I love in many different ways, as I'm sure most people do, but this book has opened my eyes that we give all the glory to God even when we are down. I think that this book has given me a better outlook on life and the way I should keep Joy in my heart and give everything to God.

"Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be Dismayed, for I am
your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you
with my victorious right hand"  Isaiah 41:10

Wives

God has given my wife to me to instill in me a bigger heart for others and to give myself constantly to help others and beleive that life and things in life can change people.

Just the other day my wife called me as I was about to meet her somewhere and told me to meet her at the store, mind you we were running a little late but I always try to please her, so when I got there she had a basket with a pile of stuff in it.

"What the heck are you doing!"

She softly replied that she saw a man on the street corner holding a sign saying "HUNGRY!", and that God had told her to feed this man.  I, being the Christian raised person that I am helped her get some things together. Trying not to say that he needed to get out and get a job or he's a bum. God convicted me Right there in that Dollar Tree in Hattiesburg, Ms. I didn't have any compassion for his people, my brother in Christ and that is not what God called us here to do.

So I piled up the shopping basket and prayed over everything that was put in that cart.
I want to say thank you to my wife for pushing me to have a heart of giving compassion for peoples needs even if you don't even know them.

My challenge, to those that read this, is to help someone less fortunate, needy, elderly, homeless, stranded... you never know how much and in what way it will bless you. God has a way of revealing his blessings and you will be surprised everytime.

7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 2 Corinthians 9:7

Forgiveness

Colossians 3:13 NLT

13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

This has to be the hardest thing for anyone to over come.  I mean to let go and forgive the most deadly sin. Because, a sin is a sin no matter how big or evil it may seem.
But with sin comes grief, hurt, and consequences. Forgiving some is not that easy because you still have that feeling that you have been betrayed, and why should I let go because they are just gonna hurt me again, and then it becomes a trust issue, why should you trust them again.

But, in Colossians 3:12, is says;
Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

Forgiving is not forgetting!  As hard as it is to accept someone's apology think about the other side, what if you the one needing forgiveness. You're the one dealing with the grief and you can't live with yourself, because you have hurt someone you care aboyt. This is why God says to be kind and gentle in the  sight of humility.

First Post

I do believe I am tired of reading everyone's blogs and I think that I want to vent my opinions on the net just like every blogger out there.

I have a lot of random thoughts moving in and out of my complex and diverse mind, so if you think that you can handle the boredom  subscribe and hang on.  This might be alittle fun
